Deluxe Audi TT Bushing Kit for 2000-2006 cars

My 2001 Audi TT roadster convertible has been renewed and fun to drive again with a snappy tight shifter. I found this kit thru a YouTube video when the shifter went slack and we were stuck in first gear. Prior to that I lost reverse - took to a shop got reverse but lost fifth.
This bushing kit was easy to use and way better quality than the factory bushings which turned to wax and crumbled away. Not only do I have fifth gear back but the shifter is tight and snappy. Better than it was when the car was brand new. Now I can get it over to the upholstery guy to install my new convertible top. Then I can scream down the roadways…..

This product saved my 2002 Audi TT Quattro, and I fixed it myself. When my shifter broke a few weeks ago, I had no idea what exactly was wrong. I feared a multi-thousand dollar repair that just might total my car. I researched the issue and finally came across a YouTube video by a TT owner with a similar looking issue. That video had a link to this website and this bushing kit. I don’t have a ton of experience turning wrenches, but this product works. My shifter is not only fixed, but all the slop is gone. I didn’t even realize how bad it was, because I bought this car from my father-in-law in January 2022. Although he bought it new, the car was already ten years old by the time I met his daughter. The point is that the bushings work well, and the videos online and here on this website make this repair not only possible, but completely successful. My total cost, including tip to the AAA tow truck driver to get my car home, the bushing kit, a pair of retaining clip pliers, and a 1-1/8” hole saw came to a whopping total of $138.46. Yes, I spent most of the day tearing down the car, making the repairs, and putting it all back together. But, I did it. Thanks, Dieselgeek, for saving my twenty-year-old car!

Had local Audi dealership do the install. Slips into 1st with the slightest push. My 2002 TT has 170,000 miles and shifts like new. My wife even likes it (she really liked the part named, "1st Gear Finder"). Great engineering, quality build, nice doing business with DieselGeek.

This kit worked well and is very straightforward. It's easy to start to get overwhelmed by the project as you're taking the center console apart, but it's all very straightforward. The car previously would not catch reverse or first, this solved all my issues. I would highly recommend.
