Everything you need to make your 02A transmission vehicle shift better than it ever has before! This kit includes these three products: 02A Cabin Side Bushing set , 02A Cable End Bushing set, and the All-Metal 02A Side-to-Side Reduction Kit. Saves time by being able to do everything all at once, so there is no going back in when one of the other spongy OEM bushings fail. This also saves at least $20 compared to buying each kit individually when shipping is considered.

These VW replacement bushings are made in the USA on a CNC mill and lathe with high grade Delrin and UHMW polyethylene and are guaranteed for as long as you own the car! Each piece was designed with precision in mind exact inner bushing diameter, thicker flanges and larger surface areas to dial out slop found in even the brand new stock replacement parts. 

The All-Metal Side to Side bracket is really the icing on the cake! We do away with the factory plastic cable holder and replace it with precision-machined and laser-cut stainless steel components to dramatically improve shifter accuracy. On 1992 -1999 cable shift VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars, the cable holder is one of the weak links in the shift linkage. When they get about 10 years old they tend to get very brittle and develop a hairline crack that makes it harder and harder to get reverse and first gear. The Reduction Bracket Kit replaces the factory part numbers 1J0 711 260 and 1J0 711 256.  

*Early 02A cars such as the 1989-1993 Corrado, Golf VR6, and Passat were equipped with rectangular-headed front to back cables (see last picture). We have bushings for these rectangular-headed cables. If you have a car with a Rectangular headed front/back cable end then you must pick that option in the dropdown menu to the right. (The kit costs $6.00 more due to lower production numbers.)

Taxes on most orders shipped outside of the USA are collected at checkout and shipped Duty-Paid for a smooth delivery process. '92 B3 Passat shifts like new!

My B3's shifter was sloppy and difficult to get into gear. Figured I'd go in and replace all the worn plastic bits in the transmission linkage... and WOW, what a difference it makes!

The black plastic cable holder by far made the largest improvement in shifting, particularly when trying to grab reverse. If you're having trouble engaging gears, you should at minimum replace this. With that said, I believe it's worth the extra money to get the complete set and do everything while you're there. It feels just as good as my much newer cars and is a blast to drive now!

It's worth noting that while Dieselgeek recommends buying the rectangular-headed front-to-back cable bushings for my car, it actually used the rounded ones. Customer support was very quick to send the proper parts, but I'd highly recommend double-checking which ones are on your car before ordering, just in case.

Better then ever

After installing the bushings, it shift better as new. Everything fits perfectly. Super fast shipping to Belgium and great customer service after an issue with customs.

Unbelievable difference.

Putting my shifter in reverse kept *actually* putting me in first gear. No matter how many times I tried, I couldn't seem to get it fixed, AND there was a good amount of slop in my shifter.

I pulled the shift box to find that most of my bushings were either broken or completely gone.

Replaced everything with this kit--the slider, the cable-ends, and everything in that pivot bracket on the shifter. WOW. Now my Corrado shifts better than the day it rolled off the factory floor.

The quality and fit of these parts is absolute perfection. Hats off to DG's modeling and manufacturing skills. VW should buy them out for millions and use their bushings on every vehicle they produce.

Thanks Chris, that offer from VW hasn't come through yet. Fingers crossed.
