Finally, there is now a fix for a disintegrated shift cable end bushing on VWs with the DSG 6-speed automatic transmissions! When the bushing crumbles away the gear lever is very loose and the cluster may display the wrong gear. You may not even be able to shift the car at all. Before now you would have to pay ungodly sums of money to VW for a complete gear selector and then tear your car apart to replace it.  Get our time and money saving shifter bushing and get back on the road! Our precision machined bushing is proudly made in the USA on American made machines and is guaranteed for as long as you own your car!

Fits all cars with six speed "DSG" / "Direct Shift" / "Dual Clutch" automatics.

Not compatible with 09A, 09G "Tiptronic" (non-DSG) transmissions. The Tiptronic cable end bushing is <HERE>.

US Shipping: We offer and highly recommend FedEx 2nd Day Flat Rate shipping on this item alone if you are in any sort of hurry to get it. (Slower US Postal Service shipping is also available.) We ship Monday through Friday from Colorado except on holidays.

International shipping:  USPS shipping is currently suspended due to their system backlogs. In these uncertain times we recommend the slightly more expensive but much faster FedEx International Connect Plus service. Taxes on most orders shipped outside of the USA are collected at checkout and shipped Duty-Paid for a smooth delivery process.

Install:

  • Shift the car to neutral, THEN set the parking brake, THEN release the brake pedal, THEN shift the car to park. This order insures that the shift cable and parking pawl is unloaded.
  • You must SET THE PARKING BRAKE so the vehicle won't roll away!
  • Remove the airbox, battery, and tray for access to the cable and selector lever.
  • Loosen the set screw joining the cable and the metal cable end.
  • Remove the shiny metal clip from the selector lever on the transmission by flexing the tab slightly toward the engine and sliding the clip radially off post.
  • Did you set the parking brake?
  • Force the the cable end forward then slide it off the post toward the engine.
  • Once the cable end is out of the car, remove the old bushing & press the Dieselgeek bushing in until the flange is flush. Hand force is all that is required. The flange faces the engine.
  • Reinstall the cable end on the post, force the lever fully back, reinstall the clip, and tighten the set screw.
  • Reinstall the battery, tray, and airbox.
